We are delighted to welcome Lisa Boissel, Managing Director of Miss Jones PA to our next C&C PA Collective event. As London’s leading assistant network, recognising the importance of the role of the PA in Business today and keeping members in the know of the best venues and suppliers are Miss Jones’s main objectives. We caught up with Lisa below:

Lisa Boissel

Can you sum up what you do in a sentence?

I am Managing Director of Miss Jones, which is a members club for PAs and Event Bookers. We introduce them to the latest Venues & Suppliers which allows them to network with like minded individuals and grow professionally in their career.

Why did you decide to get into this?

It’s very random! I just decided one day that I was moving to London. I moved a week later and on day 3 of my job search I stumbled across the investor who had just bought Miss Jones; with a background in events they asked me if I would be interested in doing some work for Miss Jones. 5 and a half years later here I am!

What are the big plans for the Miss Jones team right now?

We have expansion plans for the next 12-18 months which is really exciting! We also have some big events like our 2nd Wellness Summit, Our 5th Showcase and the PA Awards so that will keep us busy along with everything else.

What’s the biggest risk you’ve taken that’s paid off?

Only working with high calibre venues and suppliers. When I first moved to London, I had zero contacts in the industry and decided to just target the best hotels and restaurants. For the first two years it was so hard as nobody really wanted to work with us as we hadn’t proven ourselves in the industry, but some did take a risk which I am so grateful for as they believed in us. It was by working with the best that our network grew to over 20,000.

Work – life balance, whats the secret?

It’s so hard as we have a lot to do during the week, whether it’s our own events or trying out new places to see if they would be suitable for Miss Jones. I have learnt to not drink as much and also portion control when eating out mid week! Mondays are the one day I don’t socialise and use it to cook a nice homemade meal and catch up on my favourite tv shows! My favourite thing to do to unwind are bubble baths! I have about 3-4 each week and they really help me de-stress.

What’s the one success habit that’s changed your business?

Persistence. I am a true believer that if you put your mind to something you can achieve it. I promise you will get there eventually, it may take time but keep going.

What makes you happiest about your work?

I think being able to provide our members with amazing experiences. I love receiving emails after events from our members to let me know how much they enjoyed our event and that always brings a smile to my face. I also love working with such a vast amount of clients across London and oversees.
