Key responsibilities for this Receptionist position:
- Manage the reception inbox, greet visitors warmly, and escort clients to meeting rooms with refreshments.
- Oversee post, couriers, franking, and daily newspaper collection.
- Liaise with building maintenance and support general office upkeep, including kitchen and canteen stocks.
- Handle all switchboard calls confidently, directing callers appropriately.
- Manage meeting room bookings via Outlook, ensuring rooms are set up, rearranged, and cleared to a high standard.
- Coordinate lunches, meeting catering, stationery replenishment, and support internal/external events.
- Maintain accurate security records, guest notifications, and staff swipe card access.
- Ensure only authorised visitors enter the office and support wider teams with ad hoc tasks as needed.
What background and experience are the company looking for?
- Proven reception experience with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and a polished, confident telephone manner.
- Strong interpersonal, social and diplomacy skills with the ability to build rapport.
- Cheerful, resourceful and adaptable team‑player who remains calm under pressure.
- Comfortable working in a reception role with both busy peaks and quieter periods.
- Strong IT skills and excellent attention to detail, ensuring meeting rooms and tasks are completed to a high standard.
- Passion for service excellence with a results‑focused and organised approach.
- Effective communicator with strengths in teamwork, influencing, and meeting deadlines.
